When Shah Rukh Khan cast Arjun Rampal in his magnum opus, Om Shanti Om, he perhaps had no idea that he was being screen tested for the latter’s latest. At least that’s what it looks like to us considering the latest from the grapevine. Apparently, Arjun is hoping to cast SRK for his forthcoming production. While nothing has been finalized, Arjun is playing as safe as he can. He says, “As of now, I have not spoken about what I am going to produce. These are all false rumors.” He adds, “Who will not want to cast Shah Rukh in his venture? His contribution is immense. But you need the right script as well. When I do have one, I will approach him.”

Arjun was a successful ramp model before he ventured into acting. While most of his films went down under, his performance was commendable in each. Soon, Arjun took a detour and got into producing films. Nevertheless, his first project titled, I See You, failed miserably.

After, modeling, acting and producing do we see him taking the director’s baton as well? He laughs it off by saying, “I am not directing. I am happy being an actor.” As long as we get to see more of this handsome hunk, we are not complaining.

Much much before the movie is released, people can predict that Ghajini is definitely going to be a good movie. The first reason being - Aamir Khan chose to do the movie, the second reason - Aamir Khan’s Ghajini cut has created waves throughout the nation and the third reason is that the movie is the remake of a superhit Tamil film.

It is borrowed heavily from Christopher Nolan’s classic Memento, but as per the Tamil version it will be appropriately Indianized. It is a story about a big businessman (Aamir) who falls in love with a model (Debutante Asin). Both the protagonists work for the cause of poor but end up in trouble when Asin exposes the women trafficking racket in Mumbai. In a retaliatory attack by the pimps Asin gets killed.

Aamir tries to rescue but he gets real bad head injuries that he suffers a heavy memory loss. So bad that he remembers things only for a short span. Aamir is determined to seek revenge and is assisted by a medical student (Jiah Khan) in his endeavors.

It would be really amazing to see Aamir perform the role of a amnesiac who is determined to take revenge and stop female trafficking. Aamir is the kind of actor who will pay attention to even the minutest expression of his character.

Cant wait to watch this movie.

S Shankar’s futuristic film Robot seems to create news every passing day. Bollywood’s well-known fashion designer Manish Malhotra has been signed to design the costumes for Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan-the lead actors in the film.

Sources reveal that the designer is already off to New York shopping and studying what newness he can lend to the costumes of the sci-fi film. “Shankar was bowled over with the costumes Manish had created for Rajnikanth in Sivaji: The Boss in his previous directorial and wanted only Manish to do the film’s costume design. Manish also agreed the minute Shankar approached him,” says a source close to the development.
Robot reportedly has a budget of approximately Rs 120 crores making it the most expensive feature film to be made till date in India.

Since Manish is in New York at the moment (he will return on August 21), he could not be contacted. However, his spokesperson confirmed that the designer has indeed been roped in for the film and that he is in New York planning and shopping for the costumes.

“I’m not going to tell you whether I’ve asked Mr. Bachchan to shave off his beard or not. But for sure, this is going to be his most startling makeover in recent times, Balakrishna, who is also known as Balki, told us. “While Abhishek will be given a more intrinsic personality change, I’m totally changing Mr. Bachchan’s look,” he added.

After “Sarkar” and “Sarkar Raj”, Amitabh and Abhishek will again be seen playing father and son in a film.

And How different would it be from Balki’s earlier film with the senior Bachchan?

” ‘Pa’ would be a far more emotional story than ‘Cheeni Kum’, which was far more caustic, dry and sharp-tongued.

“Actually, ‘Cheeni Kum’ was inspired by one scene in Raj Khosla’s ‘Dostana’ where Mr. Bachchan had confronted Zeenat Aman. The look of utter disdain and sarcasm in his eyes remained with me. That’s how his character in ‘Cheeni Kum’ was born.”

In “Pa”, Big B plays someone he has never played before.

“While in ‘Cheeni Kum’ he was a character I had seen earlier, in ‘Pa’ he’s a totally different person. It’ a very emotional father-son story, but the emotions won’t be melodramatic.”

In “Cheeni Kum” Balki roped in Tabu to play Amitabh’s love interest, but there is no romantic track for him in the forthcoming movie. Vidya Balan is cast as Abhishek’s love interest.

“Amitji will have no love interest. His world revolves around his son. Will I borrow from Mr. Bachchan’s real-life relationship with Abhishek? No. In fact, I know them so well that I’ll make sure I avoid all references to their real life.”

And what about the music?

“Ah Ilayaraja again - I worship the man. And the cinematography will be by none other than P.C. Sreeram, again after ‘Cheeni Kum’,” Balki said.

Now, this was a birthday party with some difference, considering the fact that it was a Bollywood birthday party but without fights and with patching up of old enemies. Yes, it was Saif Ali Khan’s birthday party at Four Seasons in Worli on August 16 where the long cold war between Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha Basu seemed to come to an end.

The rift between Bips and Bebo has its roots at the sets of ‘Ajanabee’. It grew stronger as Kareena called John Abraham ‘expressionless’ on Karan Johar ’s show and Bipasha continuing with making an unflattering remark (she called Bebo an actress with ‘too many expressions’) about Kareena.

But this time Kareena herself took an initiative and personally invited Bipasha for the party. Bipasha was surprised to hear from Bebo and gladly accepted the invitation. At the party, the two girls took no time in breaking the ice and warming up. They simply got talking.

While the girls went for a friendship day, it was not the same for the guys. Though Saif had invited both Shahrukh and Salman, while SRK attended with wife Gauri, Arbaaz Khan made up for brother Salman’s absence.

Miley Cyrus flashes her ever-present peace sign as she visits the Disney offices to talk business in Los Angeles on Monday.

The DVD release of Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert: The 3-D Movie drops on Tuesday and the 15-year-old entertainer was most likely discussing promotions for the release.

Bollywood’s ace actor, Shah Rukh Khan made an appearance with an élan at good friend Saifu’s birthday party, which was thrown by ladylove Kareena at ‘Four Seasons’ in Worli Mumbai on Sunday night.Besides SRK, the grand party also saw the who’s who of Bollywood which included- Soha Ali Khan, Sussanne Khan Roshan, Gauri Khan, Farah Aqeel Ali, Imtiaz Ali, Karisma-Sanjay Kapur, Konkona-Ranvir Shorey, Kunal Kohli, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Shabina Khan, Arbaaz-Malaika along with Amrita Arora and boyfriend Shakeel Ladak, Atul-Alvira Agnihotri, Dino Morea-Lara Dutta and Karan Johar.

While the group supporting SRK (evidently) was spotted at the do, Salman Khan and his family chose to attend a party thrown by Subhash Ghai’s to celebrate his wife Rehana’s birthday at the JW Marriott in Juhu, inspite of a special invitation from Bebo.

According to insiders, while SRK, KJo, Gauri, Sussanne, Farah etc. sat at a clear distance from Salman Khan’s khandaan, Bebo and Saif had a tough time looking after the two groups and had to divide their time between both.Apparently, Arbaaz Khan went to Ghai’s party first and dropped in for Saif and Kareena’s party much later but Sallu chose to head back home instead. Guess Bollywood’s biggest stars are determined to let the cold war rage on. Grow up guys!
